The flyer is the one that keeps the frequent flyer miles even in bethel. So if you work in Legal or writting and you fly for branch business even though they pay for the ticket your the one that is keeping the flyer. So people just use their points or miles in order to upgrade when they want too. The branch or World Travel Desk will only pay for the economy class and will find the cheapest flight for all betheliets including GB members.
But not all travel is branch business. Assembly speakers is not paid for by the branch it is paid for by the circuit. Memorial speakers again not a branch trip but is paid for by the host congregation. Kingdom hall dedications again local congregation. So if a local congregation or someone who can afford to fly out a bethelite first class that is their decision to do it.

There are some outside homes that are shared by some of the lawyers and the doctors of the family because they have such specialized licenses and not just anyone can do those types of jobs. Also many of the homes are converted where multiple bethelites will live in with a centralized kitchen and living room and each room will have one or two bethelites. Like Walkill had the W house it was like 10 minutes away from the main complex and something like 12 bethelites live in it. A lot of time when they bought these parcels it was owned by one person and instead of tearing down a perfectly good house they just converted them into bethel rooms.
There are also weekend cabins and homes that can be checked out on the weekends or during vacation time. It gives the bethelites someplace that is free but that they can get away from their normal routine.

Where is your evidence that is occurring? Anyone who has served at the US branch especially in the last 2 or 3 decades will laugh at this. When you walk down the hall you see their names on the outside of the doors, their room numbers are in the Bethel Directory and you see them walking into their rooms in the residence constantly. In fact at Patterson and Wallkill you can stay in their rooms when they are not up at that complex, they are guest rooms. The most that they would have is a super double room that is something like 400 sq feet. This is just like the statements that Watchtower buys them any car they want and they just lounge around all day. A few of them do have nice cars but that is because usually, a friend will buy it for them.

Because the point of this thread, at least how I see it, is that the GB has to be careful because legally they may be held liable for any actions that witnesses commit against children. And DD said that he hopes that it will change our society.
My point is two-fold.
First, would you hold lawmakers complicit in the actions of those that hurt children because they allow for the age of consent to be so low such as at 13 or 14 years old? Would they be held responsible?
Second, that different societies view things differently even though you may think it is cut an dry such as when an adult is having sex with a child. Some societies have decided that the threshold is lower and others view it higher. And these are not just s***hole countries these are some modern and progressive societies.

That just because one society feels that something is wrong or illegal doesn't mean that everyone sees it the same way. And that with instances of child abuse it matters what the law states.

But even if I was being legalistic. Would the fact that the legislatures in countries like Korea, Germany or Italy allow for the shockingly low age of consent, does that make them complicit for harm caused by people who take advantage of it? Does it make the police and prosecutors complicit because there is nothing legally they can do to stop those people from using the law to their advantage? No, they are not complicit.

Actually not always if an adult has sex with a child is it rape legally speaking. It is what the laws of that land are. In some countries, adults can have sex with children as young as 13 or 14 and it is perfectly legal.

ken cook was announced today at morning worship as the new member of the governing body.

i dont recall him from the broadcasts, but he was formally a helper on the writing committee as per https://www.jw.org/en/jehovahs-witnesses/faq/governing-body/.

The broadcasts are filmed and translated months ahead of time. there may be an introduction video, but there is no precedent since this is the first new member since JW Broadcasting was formed.

Also, court after court has ruled that Watchtower does not have a fiduciary responsibility and that there is no special relation between congregants and the religion. Also just as in California, other states have shown that there is no duty to warn or a duty to protect.
